GalaxSea Explorers wasn't born out of a sudden realization or eye-opening insight, but rather a long-term pain point that I personally experienced all throughout my pre-college education. I still remember walking to my local library in elementary school with a piece of paper in my hand full of questions, trying to figure out answers to all of those curiosities before the 30 minute timer at the computer station ran out. These sessions never satisfied me, and neither did the YouTube videos, encyclopedias, and space books in the adult section of that library. Today, I realize what I'd needed back then was a chance to apply that interest into hands-on space projects. While I never got that opportunity, this absence has only fueled my desire even more with GalaxSea Explorers and crystallized my passion of education.

The Dragon Kim Foundation has played a critical role in getting GalaxSea Explorers to where it is today. From the very first leadership weekend to an amazing mentor and a $5000 seed grant, this nonprofit accelerator program (essentially a high-schooler, NGO version of YC) has allowed me to network, build on both technical and leadership skills, and start up what was just an idea during my freshman year of high school.

It has connected this organiztion to countless other organizations pursuing social entrepreneurship, as well as a tight community of leaders and expansive network of business/social experts who have invested in our program.
